Women's History Month continues this week at Pacific and ends next week with the Women of Distinction Luncheon.
Women's History Month Week 3
Today, March 25 at 7 PM at the GHES Center (Gender Humanities and Ethnic Studies Center) located in WPC, Women's Resource Center Community Inclusion Coordinator Serena Welch will be hosting the program Women Empowering Women: Accomplishments Beyond the Letters, an informational panel about multicultural sororities. Refreshments will be provided.
On Tuesday, March 26, at 6 PM, Janet Leigh Theatre will be screening Half the Sky as part of Women's History Month. Half the Sky is a four hour television series about the oppression of women worldwide.
Also on Tuesday at the DUC Lawn starting from 5 PM
there will be a rally protesting the media's handling of the
Steubenville rape case and American rape culture in general. Please WEAR RED this day to show support.
On Wednesday, March 27, at 5 PM at the MC, there will be an educational program about Transfeminism, the intersection of transgender and feminist discourses.
Women's History Month Week 4
The first week of April is Enough is Enough Week, an international protest against rape and other sexual violence. Monday, April 1 will be Take Back the Night March. Check back here for more information.
Finally, bringing Women's History Month to a close, on Thursday, April 4, at 11:30 AM at the Alumni House there will be a luncheon held to honor Women of Distinction from the Pacific and the Stockton community. Tickets are 5$ for students and 10$ for faculty, staff, and community members and can be bought at the MC or at the GHES Center.
