In between surf sessions I have had lively conversations with Basque kids about issues of self-determination, the people's sovereignty, American imperialism, Basque autonomy, and the importance of being world citizens (in addition to more mundane things like the weather, the swell, and the relative merits of In N Out and pintxos).
If you are on spring break, I hope it is as fun and multicultural as mine has been.

Hello fellow Tigers! I hope you are all having an eventful and relaxing Spring Break; the sun finally came out the mintute Jun arrived, so he definitely brought some of the California Sun with him. I hope to show him more of the Basque Country for the next few days that he is here, so he can take some of the culture and really cool Basque words we are learning back to the US to share with you all! Thank you to all that sent me gifts, cards, food, etc.
